Make a Pause Pact
A Pause Pact is a tiny agreement between you and someone you trust: a few simple rules and a secret code phrase that make it easy to stop and check before money or codes ever move. Fill it in, then print or share it.
Our money rules
Tick the promises you both agree to. The classics are pre-selected.
Everything here stays on your device or inside the share link you choose to send. We never store your pact on a server.
Our Pause Pact
- I always check with
- (name your trusted person)
- Secret code phrase
- (choose a phrase together)
We promise:
- •No paying with gift cards, ever.
- •No crypto or wire transfers without checking first.
- •No sharing one-time codes or passwords with anyone.
- •No acting under pressure, urgency means slow down.
- •Always verify through official channels I find myself.
- •No secrets, I can always call my trusted person.
When in doubt, we pause and check, together.
What is a Pause Pact?
What it is
A short, friendly agreement you make with a family member or friend, a code phrase plus a handful of money rules you both promise to follow.
Why it works
Scams rely on panic, secrecy, and isolation. A pact agreed calmly, in advance, gives everyone permission to pause and a trusted person to call, so no one ever has to decide alone in the heat of the moment.
Where to use it
Stick it on the fridge, save it in your phone, or text it to a parent or grandparent. Bring it out the instant a message or call feels urgent.
How to use it
If anyone ever asks for money or a code unexpectedly, especially in a hurry, you ask for the code phrase and check with your trusted person first. No exceptions, no embarrassment.
